The former Emmerdale actress Charley returned to work for five months following her having quit her role on the ITV soap
The former Emmerdale actor Charley Webb has announced that she has returned to Emmerdale five months after quitting the soap.
The actress was Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap for 19 years prior to taking a break in January. When she announced her departure, she said: “This is always my most frequent question, but I’ve never responded previously because I’ve not wanted to make a huge deal of it.

“I left to have Ace 2 years ago. I went back at the end of last year for 10 weeks to complete a storyline. So, I guess officially it’s been a year. I never felt the need to announce it which is why we didn’t.”
However, it’s not all bad news, as it appears we’ll see her on screens soon when she teased a brand new project.
Sharing a photo of her commute working on her Instagram story, while wearing her slippers for the house, the caption read “The slippers are coming to work with me today.”
It was reported previously that Charley has decided to quit due to Matthew’s allegations of a race-related row. When asked about her departure the source informed The Sun: “Charley is shutting the door to Emmerdale to the end of time and will never be returning.
“Matthew being caught up in the row on set fuelled her decision to step away. Naturally the door is open for her character, who is now living in Scotland, should she change her mind. But for now she is looking to the future.”
