Piers Morgan has criticised Lewisactor Laurence Fox for posting a tweet which was later removed by the streaming service under their ‘hateful behavior’ guidelines.
Piers shared a screenshot from the tweet and wrote: “Laurence Fox” One follower added: “The police should handle the tweet.” Another said: “The BBC or LBC cannot give Laurence Fox another platform.” It’s absurd that they did ever do it.” Another person wrote: “Clear cut racism.”
Piers took a screenshot of the offensive post after another follower asked. A Twitter user responded, writing: “Because Laurence Fox is likely to stand in another election at some time and it’s important that as many people as possible know what kind of person he really is. After much criticism from his followers on Twitter, I believe the tweet has been removed now.
Piers wasn’t the only one to criticize the post. The actor’s name was trending on Twitter, and others also took to Twitter to voice their opinions. One person said: “Laurence Fox has long ago sow the seeds of his own destruction. He will follow the path of Katie Hopkins or Yaxley Lennon, and soon he will be in obscurity.
Laurence tried to defend his tweet after the outrage over his message. He wrote: “Nothing about race in my admittedly provocative Tweet was about race. However, it is with crushing predictability it was spun that way by my political enemies & the usual media swindlers.”
