New family-run dairy shop opened in . It offers fresh milk and 24 flavors of ice cream.
Bidlea dairy has opened their doors to customers at their Twemlow shop. Jill Brown and her family had dreamed of opening a shop since 18 months ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit.
The store was originally located under an awning. It has since moved to a new purpose-built location with milk and dairy products dispensers and covered seating.
Jill was thrilled to open the shop. She was also surprised when two of the first customers came from Biddulph Moor, not far from Oxhey Farm, where Ray’s grandfather established Bidlea’s 300-strong herd.
She stated, “We planned to open the dairy shop without much fuss, but I was thrilled when I found out where the women lived.”
“It was unbelievable that they were from the same place Ray’s grandad started the herd.
“I couldn’t have planned it better, and it certainly made our day. It seemed like a good sign for the future success and growth of the shop.”
The business opened in 2002 and has been a favorite spot in the neighborhood. Now, the shop with its outside tables is expected to draw even more people.
Ray said, “Everything in the shop will be either our own dairy products of made locally and within the county as far we can. But it will be introduced at one step such as the cheese that we are making.”

It features a large parking lot, a nature trail, wooden play structures for children, and plans to build a permissive path between the farm and Goostrey.
The shop offers bring-yourself bottle milk, cartons, local butter, eggs, ice cream in cones and cartons, Cheshire honey, coffee and teas. There is also a wide selection of delicious cakes from Jill’s farmhouse.
